HON. JUSTICE MOSUNMOLA ARINOLA DIPEOLU, FICMC, FHNR

THE CHIEF JUDGE/CHAIRMAN OF THE JUDICIAL SERVICE COMMISSION

Hon. Justice Mosunmola Arinola Dipeolu FICMC, FHNR was born on May 5, 1959. His Lordship attended St. Mary’s Primary School, Broad Street, Lagos, from 1965 to 1970 for primary education. In 1971, His Lordship proceeded to Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School, Abeokuta, where His Lordship completed secondary education in 1976. Subsequently, His Lordship attended Ahmadiyya College, Agege, Lagos State, and obtained a Higher School Certificate in 1978.

Between January 1979 and February 1981, His Lordship pursued a Law degree (LLB) at the University of Buckingham, England. His Lordship later attended the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was called to the Bar in July 1982. Following this, His Lordship completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme at the Nigerian Ports Authority, Broad Street, Lagos.

His Lordship attended the Redeemed Christian Church of God Mission School in 2015 while on National Assignment in Makurdi, Benue State. His Lordship obtained an Advanced Diploma Certificate in Theology from The Bible College, Redeemed Christian Church of God in July 2015. His Lordship also attended and obtained a Certificate from Christ The Redeemers Ministry School of Disciples between January and December 2004.

Conferment of Life Bencher Rank
His Lordship was conferred with the rank of Life Bencher, the highest honor in the legal profession, by the Body of Benchers on March 5, 2025.

Professional Experience
Chief Judge, Ogun State Judiciary (October 22, 2018 – Present)

  • Appointed as the Substantive Chief Judge of Ogun State, overseeing the administration of justice in the state judiciary.
  • Leads judicial reforms, case management systems, and legal policy development in Ogun State.


High Court Judge, Ogun State Judiciary (May 4, 1999 – October 2018)

  • Elevated to the High Court Bench after serving meritoriously as a Magistrate.
  • Presided over high-profile civil and criminal cases, contributing to the development of jurisprudence in Ogun State.

Magistrate, Ogun State Judiciary (January 1985 – May 1999)

  • Served as a Magistrate, adjudicating on various legal matters and rising through the ranks due to diligence and judicial excellence.

Law Officer, Lagos State Ministry of Justice (August 1982 – December 1984)

  • Worked in different departments, providing legal advisory services and prosecuting cases on behalf of the state government.

  • Delivered papers at conferences and workshops organized by Rotary Club District 9110, Magistrates Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Branch, and for Presidents and Members of Customary Courts, Ogun State, among others.

  • Coordinator – Good Women Fellowship, Overcomers’ Zone, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ogun Province 1, Abeokuta.
  • Chairman – Building Committee, Overcomers’ Parish, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Abeokuta.
  • Coordinator – Praying Mothers’ Union, Abeokuta (Meets every third Saturday of the month at His Lordship’s residence).

  • His Lordship is passionate about children, music, and traveling.
