The Ogun State Judicial Service Commission was established in November, 1979. The Judicial Service Commission is a creation of statute i.e; Section 197 (1) (C) of Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Amended).

Its responsibilities include advising the National Judicial Council on suitable persons for nomination to the office of the Chief Judge, President Customary Court of Appeal and other Honourable Judges of the State.
